Oh! It's been a long time since you've heard anything from this group, hasn't it? I would like to announce the return of the monthly contests and some new features I'll be adding soon! Now, since this month has already started, I hope you all don't mind if I wait until next month to announce the newest contest.

Well, with that out of the way, I would like to do perhaps a weekly or monthly poetry feature that's not related to the contests, but I don't know how many of you would be interested in such a feature?

I would also like to do writing prompts, but again, is anyone interested?

Also, one last thing, would any of you like to become admins? You'll be responsible for approving submissions, helping with contest and prompt themes and finding people to feature. I'd also appreciate it if you help judge contests and donate prizes, but I've got no problem with it if you'd still like to enter the contests.

Speaking of contests, what kinds of prizes is everyone interested in? I can offer small sums of points, critiques, and art.

If there's anything else anyone would like to bring up, go for it. Now's the time!

Poetry looking for critique:
Love VS. The RainIf only love was like the rain,
cold on the skin but refreshing and beautiful.
If only the human heart was like a single drop of rain,
falling through the sky until it collides with the pavement;
Never given a second thought, only to be forgotten.
Yet no one forgets the fall, or the rush it gives a person.
It's so intoxicating you dont even know you've hit the ground;
until your heart stops and your last breath seeps through your lifeless lungs.
Love is a storm all on its own,
you'll be basking in the sun and in the next moment you'll be just another stain on the concrete,
then wander the afterlife with an unending list of questions.
Why? What did I do?
What could I have done?
And your last words will be "I love you".

Pregnant Woman Blues"Honey do this, honey do that.
Do you know where I put the towel at?
Honey I don't feel good.
You're kind of a jerk.
Will you run to the store and get me dessert?
Your one quarter of the bed hogs my three.
Why don't you ever listen to me?
I wonder how cute the baby will be.
You bastard, you did this to me."
I do this, I do that.
How should I know where the towels' at?
It's normal to not feel good.
Jerk? You're hormonal.
It's freaking midnight... OK.
I can't scoot anymore or I'll be on the floor
I did what you asked and then some, and more,
The baby will be beautiful, just like her mommy.
Remind me next time and I'll just get you a puppy.

It’s a chase, in a maze
Of a rundown city haste
And the knights in bloodlust craze
For the throne of her embrace
It’s a war, spreading far
They bring hell to where they are
In their bodies, thousand scars
And the smell of sweet cigar
When kings reign, death will rain
Tears will flow and so will pain
Drench the land till dust remains
And their flags with blood they stain
Take her head, like they said
This godforsaken soil they tread
Ain’t as if paradise they had
For this land’s already dead
Like the wind, it’s destined
To take her heart that’s free of sin
For her goodness lies within
Masked by vileness of her skin
Evil banished, demon punished
Like the spirits they all vanished
Light of day life’s been replenished
But pretense never diminished
Like a dream, justice streamed
And their promises they all scream
With their skins of colored cream
But their hearts never redeemed
Half a life, lived with strife
Promises they played like fife
Under

Featuring our members is a really good idea. It'll help gain them more views and recognition for their work, which will both give them valuable insight into their work and how to make it better, and it'll just plain make THEM feel better, about their work, about themselves, and about being HERE with us.

Prompts are always a great idea, most writers especially poets, need something to drive them, a catalyst to help the thoughts and ideas form into the words, stanzas and fully completed pieces they know they want and need to write. A lot of the time, a prompt is all it takes. In addition, prompts often take us to places in our creativity that we've never gone, and didn't know existed.

We can talk about being an admin, if you like. Note me. :)
